Craig Murphy was born and educated in the United Kingdom where he worked in corporate asset finance and leasing until 1991 when he left the UK. Since then he has worked with institutional, corporate and private clients to structure a wide variety of trading, royalty, trust, fund, asset and debt based transactions as well as traditional private client trusts.
Craig has lived and worked in the Channel Islands, The Bahamas, Canada, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. Craig was a director at Fortis Bank, Fortis Fund Services and MeesPierson in the Cayman Islands, responsible for all transactions with fiduciary risk. Prior to joining Amicorp, Craig worked for Equity Trust as director of trust and fiduciary services in the BVI and, following an eight-month secondment to work on the ABN AMRO Trust acquisition completed in June 2005, as regional commercial director for Asia Pacific.
Craig has served as an independent director for various funds, including stock exchange quoted funds, and as an independent director of multinational companies. He has worked closely with ultra high net worth clients, and their families and advisors, in establishing and managing Private Trust Companies with a focus on governance and risk management.
Craig joined Amicorp in Hong Kong as commercial director in May 2007 and was appointed as managing director in November 2008. His responsibilities include fund structuring, corporate and trust transactions for corporate and private clients.
Craig has been a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners since 1998 and sits on the STEP Hong Kong Branch Executive Committee. Craig is fluent in English.
